Today was Office Thursday. I've been looking forward to Office Thursday since Friday. I woke up this morning and in my excitement over both Office Thursday and finishing my paper last night, I wore something OTHER than a t-shirt today. That is a really big deal.
We went to Molly and Hiram's to watch it and at 7:56 we flipped to channel five. Instead of the tail end of 30 Rock, we were looking at a big ugly Doppler radar screen. Because it was raining outside. And THE LOCAL NEWS IN ALL ITS WISDOM decided they needed to stand in the rain and tell us it was raining.
Granted, it was a lot of rain, but come on! We weren't even under a tornado watch! And if I'm not hiding in the bathroom because of the weather outside, then it is not severe weather. (I frighten easily when it comes to bad weather. I cried all the way through The Day After Tomorrow and watched most of it through my fingers.) So seriously. It was NOT WORTH THE FUSS. It most certainly was not worth the half-hour-plus of fuss.
And now I have to spend tomorrow avoiding The Watercoolers of the Internet so I don't accidentally hear what happens. At least I don't also have to avoid The Watercoolers of the Real World. That would be just too much to handle. Curse you, Channel Five!
