There's this game that my friends and I like to play when we're in medium-sized groups. It doesn't really have a name, we just call it "that game with the paper and the folding and stuff," but it is hilarious. It's telephone for grown-ups.
Here's how it works: everyone gets a piece of paper and writes a phrase or a sentence or a word on it. Then everyone passes their paper to the next person in the circle. That person then looks at the phrase and attempts to illustrate it, then folds the paper back so the only thing visible is the illustration. They pass the paper to the next person. That person - who cann ow see only a picture - writes a sentence describing the picture, folds back the paper so only the sentence is visible, and passes it on. And so on, until the papers are full. Then you unfold the paper and laugh and laugh and laugh at the transition.
Last time we played, all of us were in tears from laughing. I saved three of the most hilarious and they're pinned up on my wall, still making me giggle when I glance at them. Here's one of them (sorry about the language). It starts as "eat more chicken" and ends as "Pacman is a victim of arson". AWESOME.
Obviously, this game hinges on people's inability to draw. You can see where that one just falls apart with the first drawing. Some of the other notable transitions from that night:
from "shot through the heart (and you're to blame)" to "a socially progressive witch opposes slavery"
and
from "Molly is taking a women's health class" to "Hiram is ostracized by a pair of Jewish lesbians"
