I voted on Friday. This is my first presidential election and I have loved this election season. Not the nastiness or the politicking or the INTERMINABLE LENGTH, but the learning and researching and getting informed. I've discovered I have real, strong opinions on real issues. This stuff matters.
As I was standing in the line to vote, I was a little bit emotional as I looked around at everyone else in the line.* I kept thinking how cool it was that we all have different opinions and a lot of us disagree, but here we all are standing in line to voice those opinions together. And we live somewhere that is allowed and encouraged. That is why I love this country, despite all its faults. Because we can change things.
*I also got a little teary at the GO WORLD commericals during the Olympics. I'm one of those people. Leave me alone.
