a little peek

I have been doing absolutely nothing the last few days. Nothing. I'm still in my pajamas right now, and it's 10 pm. If I had a little more shame I'd be embarrassed about that, but there you have it.

I've fallen a little behind on my December Daily, but here a couple pages that I've completed.

winter craftiness

Winter break always leaves me with lots and lots of free time, which I usually put towards crafty projects. Last year I made gift tags and paper-mache, and this year I'm working on my daily December book and glittery walnuts.

I got the idea from Martha's website and honestly I will take any excuse I can get to buy a jar of loose glitter.

It's very easy: spread a thin layer of glue on the nut (too thick and the original texture will be obscured), hold it over a bowl and spoon glitter over it. Set it on a piece of paper to dry. Once it's dry, give it a quick blast of hairspray to keep the glitter in place.

I think I will still be finding glitter in my ears when I come home next Christmas.

does anyone have any weddings they need planned? I HAVE A GREAT IDEA.

We went to the new-ish Paper Source this week, and I found my new favorite stamp.

The salesgirl told me that her friend bought the same stamp to use on her Christmas cards -- she drew a little Santa hat on him. Then I realized, this is the world's most versatile stamp! Birthday card? Draw a party hat! Independence Day? Draw some flags in his arms! The possiblities are endless. I'm pretty sure I could work this guy into a wedding card. OR A WHOLE WEDDING. It could be very pretty. For the couple who is classy, yet unique. Very tasteful and subtle -- some Versamark watermark ink, perhaps? -- but at the same time TOTALLY FUN.  People, I think I'm on to something: a future career as a wedding planner.

I like to buy new clothes for winter, so I thought my blog should get some too. I've updated a few links in the sidebars and will soon be adding a gallery or two with some of my scrapbooking and paper things.

hello stranger.

So I'm on break right now. And honestly, it's been difficult to get things done. I went from not having any time to do things to having all the time in the world to do things, and my brain couldn't quite handle the abrupt shift. But after a few days of laying on my back and playing video games on Dad's PS3, I'm ready to get things done again. Last night I got caught up on some crafty things, like my Daily December book. I plan to share some of that later, but first I have to eat lunch. 

In the meantime, enjoy this:

december cheer

Today was a bit on the stressful side. I made this little guy from a kit I got at Michael's to cheer myself up. Isn't he cute? And so soft and cuddly, too.

I'm going home for the holidays on Thursday. I don't think I've ever been so relieved and happy to head home, and I don't think I've ever been as sad to leave as I was after the Thanksgiving break. This has just been a hard semester, one I am very glad to put behind me in a few days. (Another bit of December cheer!)

Tonight I am making chicken chili and either watching Christmas Vacation or playing Super Smash Bros. with my friends. I am so grateful for my friends. They are the best people I know.
