Alli Coate is an artist I discovered a few years ago by that special kind of internet happenstance, where you are just blindly clicking links and all of the sudden you find something amazing and you can't even remember how you got there. She makes jewelry and does illustrations with fabric. The first thing I bought from her was a set of fabric-covered thumbtacks (my first purchase on Etsy!) and that was soon followed by a necklace and then some very cool earrings made of colored leather scraps.
Right now, her shop mostly contains prints for sale, and they are beautiful. I just bought this key print and it is so beautiful! I can't wait to frame it and hang it in my living room.
I also really love her bird illustrations. The cool thing I discovered when I got my order in the mail is even though it's a print, you almost can't tell unless you touch, because the fabric texture is so visible.
In addition to her beautiful work, Alli is super sweet. She sent me an extra print with my order, as well as a personal note thanking me for my repeat customership. Gotta love that!
If you're in the mood for pretty things, check out her shop and her blog!
