No real reason for this picture, except that this newspaper ostrich was in Anthropologie and I think it is awesome.
This weekend a series of small tweaks to my normal sleep schedule had me wide awake at 4 am Sunday morning. And I mean wide awake. Thoughts were spinning and spinning and I couldn't turn my brain off. Why fight it? So I got up. At 4. I made some tea, turned on the lights, checked my email, read some blogs. At 6 am I made eggs and toast for breakfast. By 9 am I had accomplished more than I usually do in an entire weekend. I was starting to think I should make this a regular habit, until I crashed hard at about 5 pm. Until then, though, I was unstoppable!
(Aren't we all unstoppable until we stop? John Mayer said it better: "I am invincible, as long as I'm alive.")
The best part of all of it was I actually felt inspired to make something. Out of paper and glue. I hope I can hold onto that long enough to do the making. If I can pull that off, you know I'll share the result here soon!
Here's to weirdly productive, wildly impractical sleep patterns -- and here's to my solid eight hours. So happy to have them back.
