Chris is gone. Early, early this morning I drove him to the Army recruiting station in downtown Dallas and said a tearful goodbye. He's heading off to basic training (boot camp) for the next 10ish weeks. (Because of this. Which was seven months ago. Oy.)
So now it's just me, one sweet cat, and one part-time evil cat for a while. I'm going to do my best to keep from going crazy by staying busy and thinking positive and writing lots of letters.
We had a lovely last weekend together. The weather was gorgeous so we ate outside and played basketball. When we got tired of that we came in and vegged out on our favorite video game, Little Big Planet 2--we beat the game last night at 10pm. Phew! It was a perfect weekend and the only thing bad about it was that we won't be able to do it again next week. But in a few months we'll be back together again and off on a new adventure. Can't wait.
