I finished up my donation for the 100 Quilts for Kids charity drive. Katie of Swim, Bike, Quilt organizes this every year and I was glad to participate this year. This was definitely a quick and easy project for me--not a single bit of hand-sewing on the whole quilt!
I used pre-cut charms to make a simple patchwork top, and a few extras on the back for some interest. The quilting was just simple diagonal lines through the squares, and I gave machine-binding a go this time too. I decided to use a zig-zag stitch, as it has the largest margin of error of any other methods I read about. Wide margin of error is always a good thing when you're trying something new! Though I definitely prefer the invisible look of hand-finishing, I do think the zig-zags are cute and a good option when I'm in need of something quick.
I believe the quilts will be going to a pregnancy center in DC, so hopefully this will keep a new little baby nice and warm.
