Last night I went to Hancock with a 50% off coupon and stocked up on Kona Snow, my favorite background fabric. Having tons of it on hand inspired me to start a new project, a strip-pieced 9-patch quilt. I'm using a jelly roll of Denyse Schmidt's Shelburne Falls—part of one of my 2014 sewing resolutions to use up my pre-cuts!
I think I'm going to sash the blocks, so the end result won't really look much like the photo above, but I'm excited about it so far. I've been wanting to do a quilt using this traditional block for a long time; I'm glad I'm finally doing it!
