This morning we woke up to six inches of snow on the ground. It was really pretty, but I'm so over it. Technically it's still winter for three more days, so I guess I can't get too upset, but really, I'm done with winter. Done done done.
Last week I planned out and ordered fabric for a new quilt. I decided to go with a palette of greens, focusing on a pretty emerald green. Last night I sketched out a different new quilt to work on, and when I went through my stash to pick fabrics for it, I again ended up with several shades of green.
A few days ago, I planned out and purchased fabric for Joey's Easter outfit. Guess what color he's going to be wearing? Green.
(quick tip: when I get new solid-colored quilting fabrics, I use a strip of washi tape and a sharpie to label them with the manufacturer and color name.)
When we went to Starbucks today, the display near the door caught my eye and I pulled out my phone to snap a photo of it, thinking I may use it as future quilt inspiration.
Green again. (Actually, green, gold, black, and white, which is so cool.)
I'm not normally a green person. I like green just fine, it's a nice color, but it's never been a default, go-to color for me. I haven't been consciously choosing to make all the things green, but it appears my subconscious is as ready for spring as the rest of me.
